July 20, 1988Funeral services for Myles Young III, 81, were held today (Wednesday) at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. Myles Young III was an owner of M. Young & Company feed and seed dealership and elevator in Winterset, which was founded by his grandfather, Myles Young, in 1882 on the city's east side.
Young died July 17, 1988, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. David Bauer with graveside services by Evening Star Lodge No. 43 and the Masonic Lodge of Winterset.
Young was born in Winterset April 17, 1907. His parents were Myles Young., Jr. and Clara Snyder Young.
He married Veva Breeding June 29, 1930 in Winterset and he was a lifelong resident of Winterset. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of Rotary, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a graduate of Simpson College.
Besides his wife, Veva, Young is survived by his daughters, Vanna Lee Cook and Susan Robinson, both of Muscatine, Ia; and Meredith Easter of Winterset, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother.
