Bill Janes Services in Jefferson

Funeral services will be held from the Slininger Funeral Home in Jefferson at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12th for Bill Janes.

Mr. Janes, 47, was killed in an accident Monday afternoon. He is a former Madison County resident.

William Janes Death Recorded

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 12, 1976, at 2 p.m. from Slininger Funeral Home in Jefferson, Iowa for William F. Janes, 47, who died Monday, February 9, 1976, near Jefferson.

The son of Lester and May Mathews Janes, William Floyd was born April 12, 1928, at Patterson in Madison County. He lived there until 1963 when he moved near Jefferson.

The marriage of William Janes to Mae Hardman took place May 16, 1975. Mr. Janes was a member of the Olive Street Church of Christ in Jefferson.

Surviving Mr. Janes is his wife, Mae, a son, Robert of Des Moines and a daughter, Sheryl, also of Des Moines.

Also surviving is a brother, Thomas, three sisters, Mrs. Dale (Velma) Hall of Des Moines, Mrs. Claude (Rosy) Clear and Mrs. Lee (JoAnn) Cox, both of Winterset, a stepson, Arthur Hardman, serving with the U.S. Marines on Okinawa, four step-daughters, Mrs. John (Wanita) Crouch and Mrs. Charles (Collen) Hoyle, both of Jefferson, Mrs. Dean (Barbara) Woods of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Janet Hardman of Des Moines and 10 step-grandchildren.

Participating in the funeral services for Mr. William Janes was Mr. Lloyd Lee. Interment was made at the Highland Township Cemetery, Bayard, Iowa.

Transcriber's note: There is a gravestone at both Highland Township Cemetery and Union Chapel South Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa.
