H. R. DOWLER DIES

St. Charles, (Special) July 1st -

Relatives here received word of the sudden death last week of H. R. Dowler at his home in Casper, Wyo. He was 70 years of age and the son of Joseph and Martha Dowler, an old pioneer family of South township.

He and his family moved to Wyoming about 35 years ago where his wife, formerly Miss Gertrude Leggett, died. A few years ago he married Mrs. Gertrude Husted of Truro who, with a number of children and grandchildren survive him. He also leaves a brother, Stewart Dowler of St. Charles and a sister, Mrs. W. A. Porter of Truro.

H. R. DOWLER CLAIMED HERE

Was Casper Resident Since 1918

Hamilton R. Dowler, 69, proprietor of the Dowler Shoe Repair shop and a resident of Casper for over 20 years, passed away early Tuesday morning in his sleep at the family home, 1725 East Second-st.

Mr. Dowler was born in Madison county, Ia., on July 31, 1872, and came to Casper in 1918, and had resided here since.

By his first wife he was the father of 11 children, and several years after her death he was married to Gertrude Husted of Osceola, Iowa, March 21, 1933.

Mr. Dowler was a member of the Christian church and of the Casper Maccabee lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Dowler of the family home, six sons, Earle and Arthur Dowler of Casper, Fred J. Dowler of Riverton, Rev. Hugh Dowler of Sitka, Alaska, who recently accepted a pastorate there, Lloyd Dowler, Laramie high school coach, and Walter Dowler, newly appointed head coach at the Cheyenne high school; five daughters, Mrs. C. C. Coolan of Agate, Colo., Mrs. John Olsen of Chugwater, Mrs. Redburn of Casper, Mrs. Paul Dodds of Yuma, Colo., and Mrs. Joe Lagerway of Cheyenne. Also surviving are three step-children, E. M. Husted and R. E. Husted of Truro, Iowa, and Mr. D. D. Fisher of Menlo Park, Calif., a brother, Stewart Dowler of Truro, and a sister, Mrs. William Porter, also of Truro.

Funeral services for Mr. Dowler will be held at the Gay chapel Thursday afternoon at two o’clock with the Rev. E. Lee Neal of the First Christian church conducting the services. Interment will be in the Highland cemetery.
