MRS. OTTO WISHMIER RESIDENT SINCE 1916

Death Occurred April 9 At Dexter Hospital at Age of 62

Mrs. Otto Wishmier, whose death April 9 at the Dexter hospital was reported recently in the Madisonian had been a resident of Jefferson township since coming there in 1916.

She was a native of Pella, where she was born Feb. 8, 1886, the daughter of Geurt and Jane Koopman Thomassen. She was the former Alice Maria Thomassen. She was 62 years of age at the time of her death.

She was educated at Pella, attending Central college there, and after several years as a secretary in that community, she came to Madison county in 1916 to serve as housekeeper for her brother.

She was married at Van Meter on Aug. 28, 1918, to Otto Wishmier. The remainder of her life was spent on their farm south of Van Meter. She had been a member of the Lutheran church in that community since 1918.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Smith of Van Meter, Mrs. Florence Haasl of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Orma Jane Schafer of Dexter; nine grandchildren; a sister, Dora Thomassen of Pella; and two brothers, Henry Thomassen of Milwaukee and Fred Thomassen of Bergen, Alberta, Canada.

Funeral services were held April 11 from the Lutheran church in Jefferson township, and burial was made in the cemetery there. (Trinity Lutheran cemetery)
