John W. Burt of Truro died suddenly Saturday, March 11, 1961, while working at the Natural Gas Pipe Line company station near there. He was employed as an auxiliary engineer at the plant.
Mr. Burt was 57 years of age and was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born in the county Jan. 14, 1904, a son of Frank and Florence Bradshaw Burt.
He was married on June 12, 1928, to Venice Eyerly, who survives him.
He was a member of the Congregational Christian church at Truro.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Dean Burt of Belle Plaine and Donald Burt of Toledo; and a brother, Fred Burt of Lorimor.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockhart. Burial was made in Young cemetery at Truro.
