ALICE ROSS, Winterset

Alice C. Ross, 90, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment March 20, 1997 at the Community Care of America in Winterset. Funeral services were March 22 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. Pastor David Bauer officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Oskaloosa on Sept. 24, 1906 to Nels Andrew and Lena (Lofgren) Johnson. She married Clifton F. "Bing" Ross on Feb. 18, 1934 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and has been a resident of Winterset since 1945. She was a member of the Tri-L Club, Chapter AG PEO; and the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include one son, Craig A. Ross and wife Cherilyn of Urbandale; one daughter, Linda S. Rhoads and husband Bill of Winterset; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
