Harvey Davis, Orient

Harvey C. Davis of rural Orient entered his heavenly home on Oct. 27, 2003.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Oct 31, at Holy Spirit Parish in Creston with Father Leonard Kenkle officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Thursdy, Oct. 30, with the family present, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.

Harvey Davis was born May 13, 1917, to H. A. and Genevieve (Krache) Davis of Crete, Neb. On Dec. 27, 1937, he married Helen Bunker in Des Moines. He retired as CEO from MATURA Action Corporation two years ago following 35 years of service. He had received the 2000 Tyson Award, 1990 Governor's Volunteer Award, plus many other community awards. Harvey also was involved with the Midwest Assistance Program Board and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity and the University of Iowa President's Club. He had resided on his rural Orient farm for the past 60 years.

He is survived by a son, Jon Davis of Springville; a daughter, Diane Davis of Orient; a brother, Tom Davis of Prior Lake, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
