Loyd "Hap" Fleming, 104, of Winterset died of cancer Oct. 18, 1996 at the Community Care Center in Winterset. Funeral services were Oct. 21 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bob Epperson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
He was born in Keokuk County on Dec. 18, 1891 to John and Annabelle (Allen) Fleming. He married Fern Willcox on April 4, 1914 in Winterset. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Winterset. He had been the weigh master at the Madison County Auction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son; one daughter; one brother; and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Velma Bass of Winterset; one sister, Kathryn Hubbs of Rialto, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
