MRS. LULU PATON DIES AT 89 YEARS

Native of Missouri, Had Lived In Winterset for Past 34 Years.

Mrs. Lulu G. Paton, a resident of this community for 34 years, died Friday, Aug. 4, at her home in Winterset. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Paton was a native of Moberly, Mo., where she was born June 15, 1878, a daughter of W. F. and Mary M. Graham. She was married at Chariton in 1901 to P. T. Paton.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church here.

Mrs. Paton is survived by a daughter, Martha K. Paton of Winterset; two sons, Ralph T. Paton of Alexandria, Va., and Richard W. Paton of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First United Presbyterian church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John E. Fink. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.

PATON - Lulu G. Paton, born June 15, 1878 in Moberly, Mo., was called to peace and rest by her Lord and God, in her home on August 4, 1967. She was 89 years of age.

On October 29, 1901, she was united in marriage to Peter T. Paton. She was a faithful and loyal member of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset and found much joy in the fellowship of her afternoon clubs. She showed concern and interest in all of life.

The first part of her life was spent in Chariton. Since August of 1933 Winterset has been her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Paul T. and Gerald.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Martha; two sons, Ralph of Alexandria, Va., and Richard of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many friends she has made along the road of life.
