Page 7MARDIE CROSSLEY DIES AT 75 YEARS
Death Occurred Sunday at Memorial Hospital at Winterset
Mrs. Mardie L. Crossley, life-time resident of the Winterset community, died Sunday, Sept. 3 at Memorial hospital. She was 75 years of age and had been in poor health the past two months.
Mrs. Crossley was born here Sept. 7, 1885, a daughter of Laclede and Laura Buchanan Lowe. She was a graduate of Winterset high school, and attended Monmouth college at Monmouth, Ill., and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.
She was married Sept. 17, 1913, in Des Moines to Clyde C. Crossley of this community. His death occurred in 1956.
Her father, L. Lowe was a Winterset business man, owning a furniture store for many years. She joined the First Presbyterian church when she was a young lady and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary, Mrs. Ralph Hern of Winterset; a niece, Mrs. Dorothy Reiley of Red Oak, and a nephew, Frederick Danforth of Compton, Calif. Her only sister, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Danforth died two years ago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
