Opal Cameron, Winterset

Funeral services for Opal Cameron, 89, were held Tues., Feb. 25 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Jones officiating. Mrs. Cameron died of a heart ailment February 20 at Bethesda Care Center where she was a resident.

A lifetime Winterset resident, she was born February 23, 1902 to Leonard and Cora Ellen (Bentley) Parkins and married Marion R. Cameron September 7, 1921 in Des Moines. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, past president of United Methodist Women and active in 4-H.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Surviving are a son, Gerald, and wife, Jill, of Fargo, N.D.; a daughter Marjorie Macdonald and husband, Laird of Clive; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Collins Funeral Home handled arrangements, and burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
