Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 26, 1978, from First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset for Carl J. Wagner, 82, who died Friday, June 23, 1978, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was born December 17, 1895, in Hamilton, Illinois.
Mr. Wagner was the son of George and Nettie Brown Wagner. He was married to Mary E. Addy on July 10, 1919, in Winterset. She survives her husband.
A retired farmer, Mr. Wagner was an Army veteran from World War I. He retired from farming in 1976.
Other survivors include a son, Harold of Winterset; a daughter, Thelma Cain of Lennox; two brothers, Ed of Waterloo and Earl of Winterset; a sister, Clara Hamner of Winterset; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, a brother, Leonard and an infant twin sister.
Monday's services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Burial was made at Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services.
