Services for Mary Ellen Wagner, 86, Winterset, who died Sept. 10, 1985, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Friday, Sept. 13, at the First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Madison County Sept. 29, 1898, she was the daughter of John and Lida McDonald Addy. She was a lifetime resident, a member of the Veterans of World War I auxiliary and the oldest living member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Carl J. Wagner in Winterset on July 10, 1919.
Survivors include a son, Harold and wife Lois of Winterset, a daughter, Thelma Cain and husband Raymond of Lenox, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a sister,Gertrude Spence of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Carolyn; a sister, Elsie McKee; and her parents.
