H. H. FINNEY Rites Last Wednesday

Winterset Madisonian
April 23, 1947

The Rev. F. C. McCallon of Creston, an old friend of the family, conducted funeral services here Wednesday, April 16, for H. H. Finney of Winterset, whose death occurred here April 14, 1947. The rites were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, with the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist Church assisting. Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery.

Mr. Finney was a native of Indiana, where he was born in DeKalb county, March 31, 1863, the son of Daniel and Jane Finney. He was married May 23, 1886, to Olive Van Dusen, and that autumn they moved from Indiana to Madison county, settling in Webster township. Their active years were spent there and in Lincoln township. After retiring they moved to Winterset, and this community had been their home for many years.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. W. J. Eivins, Mrs. H. A. Donaldson, George H. Finney, all of Winterset, and Gail E. Finney of Earlham, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Dudley of San Bernardino, Calif.
