Funeral services for Harlow Barton Finney were held this Wednesday morning, Aug. 23, 1989, from the First United Methodist church in Winterset.

Mr. Finney died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1989, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He was 54 years of age.

A son of Gail E. and Laura Marston Finney, he was born in Madison County on July 30, 1935. He lived his entire lifetime on the birthplace farm, one-half mile south of Pitzer in Jackson township.

He was married to Glenna Smith on March 22, 1959 at Pitzer. Mr. Finney served as a township committeeman for the ASC office for over 20 years, was a 4-H leader, youth leader of the Methodist church, and past chairman of the Madison County Extension council.

He is survived by his mother, Laura Finney of Winterset; his wife Glenna of rural Earlham, two daughters, Julia Bryant of Manitowac, Wisc., and Joleen Finney of Winterset; one grandson, Stephen Bryant; and one sister, Wanda (Mrs. Earl Lohr) of Winterset.

Officiating at the funeral were Reverends Clarence and Zona Lautt, Rev. John Shaull and Pastor Steve Smith. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.
