GENE PETERSON, Winterset

Eugene Lloyd Peterson, 71, died in his home on September 19, 1992. Graveside services were held Tues. Sept. 22 at McDonald-Chase Cemetery with the Rev. David Bauer officiating.

Mr. Peterson was born in Earlham on November 17, 1920, to Andrew LeRoy and Marie Elizabeth (Klingman) Peterson. He married Betty Jo Raymond on May 11, 1944 in McAllen, Texas.

He had lived at rural Winterset since 1947, and was retired from farming. He was a member of the American Legion and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother.

Surviving relatives include his wife; a son, Harold LeRoy "Pete" Peterson of Norwalk; a daughter, Fara Marie Smith of Winterset; a brother, Andrew Peterson of Adel; a sister, Buena Howe of Indianola; and four grandchildren.
