26 July 1989Services for Charles Zink, 68, Winterset, who died July 25 at the Bethesda Care Center where he resided, will be held on Thursday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. at the Collins Funeral Home. The body will be cremated and the ashes buried in Springfield, Ore.
Born in Berkley, Iowa on May 11, 1921, he was the son of Simon and Georgia Neal Zink. He was a contracting purchasing agent and radar operator at Dewline Point, Barrow, Alaska. He was married to Mary Lou Sweenty on Sept. 17, 1946 and had been a resident here since March, coming from Blue River, Ore.
Mr. Zink was a master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his mother of Winterset; stepsons, G. Lee Wilson of Washington state and Randall Wilson of Portland, Ore., and Bart Wilson of Battle Groound, Wash; a daughter, Linda Jackson of Winterset; brothers, Robert and Harold Zink of Cedar Rapids and Bill Zink of Aurora, Colo; sisters, Bernadine Hager of Dennis, Mass., Doris Pearson of Dayton, Ohio, and Gigi Nichols of Colorado Springs, Colo; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
