Death Occurred Thursday at Hospital in Des Moines; Aged 60 Years
Charles E. Wilcox, a Madison county resident for nine years, died Thursday, April 9, in a Des Moines hospital. He was 60 years of age.
Mr. Wilcox was a native of Grimes, where he was born March 11, 1899, a son of Frank and Mary Waters Wilcox.
He was married in 1937 at Knoxville, Tenn., to Jess Mae Lowe, who died in 1957.
In this community, his home was in Monroe township, where he engaged in farming.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth, who is attending Iowa State college at Ames; a daughter, Patricia, at home; three brothers, Harley Wilcox of Timberlake, S. Dak., Lucas Wilcox of Custer, S. Dak., and Alvah Wilcox of Gliden; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Krezer and Mrs. Joe Tranter, both of Ralston.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. William Bowles. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
