Page 2JOSEPH L. LANDIS DIES IN DES MOINES
Joseph L. Landis, formerly of Peru community, died April 7 in Des Moines. He was 81 years of age.
Mr. Landis was born at Peru on Feb. 9, 1878, a son of Isaae (Isaac) and Mary Ann Landis. He lived 25 years in Madison county and was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Methodist church.
He was married Dec. 5, 1900, to Myrtle Caskey.
He was a brother of Thomas C. Landis of Des Moines and Mrs. Elsie See of Peru.
Funeral services were held Thursday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockhart of the Congregational church there. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Joseph L. Landis, 81, of Hotel Munger, 2191/2 Locust st., died Tuesday morning at Broadlawns General Hospital of a stoke. He had been ill five weeks.
He was born at Peru, Ia., and had lived here 50 years. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local 106. Mr. Landis was also a member of the Methodist Church.
Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Thursday at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, with burial at Peru. Survivors include one brother, T. C. Landis of Des Moines and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Fee of Peru.
