Marjorie Jean Foster, 84, of Creston died Feb. 16, 1999 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Orient. The Rev. Lyle Kuehl will officiate with burial in the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg. There is open visitation after 11 a.m. today with the family receiving friends 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Steen Funeral Home, Greenfield.

Mrs. Foster was born June 28, 1914 in Madison County to Ward and Neva (Lillard) Porter. On July 2, 1932, she married Ralph Eyerly in Grant City Mo. On Oct. 30, 1985, she married John Foster in Orient. She was employed as a cook at Orient-Macksburg Schools, retiring in 1982. She lived in Winterset before moving to Creston. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Macksburg, United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Orient, Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge and Women's Relief Corps.

Survivors include a son, Gary (wife Beverly) Eyerly of Des Moines; three daughters, Carol (husband Jerry) Shinn of Ellston, Marjorie Eyerly of Eureka, Mo., and Lois (husband Dale) Pals of Orient; two stepchildren, Michael (wife Susan) Foster of Phoenix, Ariz. and Flora Bailey of Pella; a brother, Glenn (wife Nena) Porter of Miami, Fla., two sisters, Helen Schutz of Pueblo, Colo., and Marilyn (husband Richard) Miller of Faribault, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Beverly (husband Dale) Ham of Winterset; 12 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Thomas Baker, and both husbands.
