ROSALIE HAYMOND

Rosalie Haymond, 78, of Winterset died from a respiratory ailment Nov. 12, 2000, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Nov. 15) at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Rosalie Haymond was born Aug. 23, 1922 in Madison County to R. Lloyd and Rose (Sawyer) Givan. A 1939 graduate of Winterset High School, she married Rex Haymond on April 13, 1941 at Wesley Chapel Church in Madison County.

In her early years, Rosalie had worked as a nanny for Dr. Anderson and Dr. Olson. She also had worked at Montross Pharmacy and had been a nurses's aide at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Sunshine Garden Club, the First United Methodist Church (where she had taught Sunday school and had been a member of the Bell Choir) and Crown Rebekah Lodge 360 of Winterset of which she had been a past Noble Grand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Marvin Haymond (wife Elaine) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Gary Haymond (wife Kathleen) of Iowa City; a daughter, Marcia Wingler (husband Oran) of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, David Givan (wife Grace) of Parker, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
