Services for Mahlon R. Henderson, 75, Des Moines who died of a heart attack on Saturday, March 14, 1987, were held Tuesday, March 17, at Dunn's Funeral Home. The body was cremated and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Henderson was born in Winterset on July 1, 1911, a son of Earle and Ada Bedwell Henderson. He had been a resident of Des Moines since 1959 and had retired as a real estate agent in 1978. He owned Henderson Realty.

Prior to 1959, he operated a hardware store, farm implement business and car dealership in Winterset.

Mr. Henderson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winterset, the Acanthus Lodge No. 632, Consistory and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary E. Redburn; a daughter, Patricia Kingery of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Bill of West Des Moines; a sister, Elvera Osborn of Simi Valley, Calif. and five grandchildren.
