Anna Opal Akin, 95, died of a heart ailment Nov. 9, 1999, at Four Winds Manor in Verona, Wisc.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.

Anna Akin was born July 3, 1904, to James Laurine and Martha (Sparks) Bell of Hawkin. She married Robert Glen Akin on Aug. 25, 1928, in Bethany, Mo. A homemaker, Anna spent most of her lifetime in the Winterset area, having moved to Oregon, Wisc., in 1994 to be near her daughter. She had been a member of the Fellowship Church in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a son, Robert W. Akin, (wife Sally) of Ogden; a daughter, Norma Brandenburg (husband Keith) of Roscoe, Ill; a sister, Bessie Jackels of Venice, Fla.; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
