Edna Lela (Leach) Mincher, 85, of Afton died June 19, 1999, at the Afton Care Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. June 23 at Powers Funeral Home, Afton, The Rev. William Richardson, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Afton will officiate with burial in the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Mrs. Mincher was born June 3, 1914, in Prairie City, Ill. to Jasper M. and Fannie Melissa (Goodson) Leach. She attended school in Macksburg. In 1946, she married Wesley Shipley in Portland, Ore., and he died in 1968 in Arlington, Texas. In October 1968, she married Riley Mincher in Durant, Okla., and he died Nov. 16, 1978. She was a homemaker.

She grew up in Madison County and lived most of her life in Arlington, Texas. She lived in Tracy, Calif., until husband Riley Mincher's death and then returned to Creston and Afton in 1982. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Afton.

Survivors include two stepsons, Kenneth and Curtis Mincher of Arlington, Texas; a stepdaughter, Marge Mincher of Texas; and two sisters, Marie Coover of Creston and Ruth Wambold of Afton.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Mack, Hank, Frank, Glen and Eddie Leach; and a sister Viva McDonald.
