EVERETT GIBSON

Everett Lee Gibson, 82, of Winterset died Friday March 7, 1997 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday March 10,1997, at New Hope Christian Union Church in Madison County. Pastor Marc Rucklos, Greg Sharp and Rod Whitmire officiated the service and burial was in the Winterset Cemetery. Graveside service was conducted by I.O.O.F. lodge No. 136 of Winterset.

He was born April 30, 1914 in Blanchard, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Estella (Hoskins) Gibson. He married Edna Ruth Blessing on Sept. 19, 1936 in Clarinda. He was a retired farmer, and a member of Odd Fellows, New Hope Christian Union Church and County Road G53.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerome; and one grandson, John Gibson.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Winterset; four sons, Fred of Winterset; Dick of Eagle Grove; Bill of Lorimor and Bob of Winterset; one brother, Quentin of Coin, Iowa; three sisters, Ester Murphy of Snohomish, Wash; Marjorie Lavely of Coin, Iowa; Rachel Murphy of Shenandoah; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
