September 2, 1998Sue Lenocker Null, 100, died of a stroke, Aug. 27, 1998 at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 31 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Mary Pope officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Sue Null was born Sept. 13, 1897, in Madison County to Reuben Andrew and Mattie Belle (Pace) Lenocker. A lifetime resident of Madison County and a 1951 graduate of Drake University, she taught for 50 years in the Winterset School District. She married Alden Earle Null Aug. 25, 1922 in Madison County. Sue was a member of the American Legion (Auxiliary) for 79 years (of which she was a charter member), past Matron of Eastern Star, a charter member of the Madison County Antique Association, a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset and a member of Chi Omega at Drake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by a son, Jack L. Null (wife Mary) of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Suzanne Null of Winterset; one sister, Martha Hull of Plymouth, Neb.; one brother, Bruce Lenocker of Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
