Services for Lorraine Lowden, 60, rural St. Charles, who died Aug. 4, 1985, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, at the Patterson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence and the Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was made in the Union Chapel Cemetery.

Born in Scott township of Madison County Jan. 27, 1925, she was the daughter of Alvin B. and Zola Bruett Gentry. She lived all her life in Madison County and was married to Clarence Lowden Sept. 11, 1942 in Savannah, Mo. She was a homemaker, a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church and the Hoosier Prairie Club and a secretary of the United Methodist Women's group.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry of Winterset; a daughter, Lynne Peterson of Winterset; a brother, Wayne Gentry of Council Bluffs; a sister, Ardith Thrailkill of Earlham; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson and an infant sister.
