Resident of Near Lorimor Dies after Extended IllnessGlenn B. Barr of near Lorimor died last Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Oakdale, near Iowa City, after an extended illness. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Barr was a native of Madison county, where he was born June 2, 1895, a son of Arthur and Anna Sawhill Barr. His life was spent in farming. For the last 20 years he had lived on the farm near Lorimor.
He was married Oct. 7, 1922 at Winterset, to Mary Vance, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Charles Keohler of Hood River, Ore., Mrs. Victor Lundy of Hood River, Ore., and Mrs. Melvin Wicker of Prairie City; four grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Barr of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Howard Criss and Mrs. Mike Brayman of Winterset and Mrs. Denman Benson of Afton.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
