James Verl Smith, Winterset, died of a heart ailment July 29, 1995 at his home.

Memorial graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. The Rev. Don Frank will officiate the service. The body was cremated. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, Winterset. Mr. Smith was born April 17, 1912 in Madison County to Millard W. and Myrtella (Cross) Smith. He was a retired farmer and lived most of his life in Union County and the past 20 years in Winterset. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Winterset.

Survivors include a sister, Izora Denton of Creston. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Iris (Imboden) Smith.

Verl Smith, 83, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment July 29, 1995 at his residence. The body was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be held Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. The Rev. Don Frank will officiate the services. Family visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, 6 – 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

He was born in Madison County on April 17, 1912 to Millard W. and Myrtella (Cross) Smith. He was married to Iris Imboden. He was a retired farmer and had lived most of his life around Union County and the past 20 years in Winterset. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Surviving relatives include one sister, Izora Denton of Creston.
