Funeral services for Curtis Fay Schutz, 92, were held Tues. Oct 13 at Macksburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed VanHolland officiating. He died at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset on October 9, 1992. Burial was at Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Mr. Schutz was born in Madison County on June 25, 1900, to Calvin and Bertha (Means) Schutz. He married Edna Steele on January 1, 1932 in Orient. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of the Macksburg area. He was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church and the Madison County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister. Surviving relatives include a son, Merrill Schutz of Macksburg; two daughters, Georgena Breakenridge of Macksburg and Jean Brown of West Des Moines; a brother, Calvin Schutz of Macksburg; two sisters, Fern Shearer of Macksburg, and Marie Groomes of Menlo; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
