Mrs. Jos. Schaff died at her home in the north part of Winterset on Tuesday evening. Her health failed about one year ago, since which time she has suffered two operations.

The family lived for many years in the south part of the county where Mrs. Schaff was widely known and held in high regard.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Thursday and burial in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Schaff is survived by her husband and two sons Ed of Winterset and Walter Schaff of Dows, Iowa.

Mortuary - Mrs. Jos. H. Schaff

Ida Luella Barnard was born near Carlsburg, Macoupin county, Illinois January 26, 1864 and died at her home in Winterset, April 14, 1914, age 50 years, 2 months and 18 days. She was the third child of Solomon E. and Mary A. Barnard.

She moved with her parents to Monroe, Iowa at the age of three and one half years in 1867. In 1870 they came to Madison county, where she has lived the greater part of her life.

She is survived by two brothers and three sisters, Chas. M. Barnard of Kirksville, George A. of Marshalltown, Mrs. Stella Quick and Sadie L., of Norwalk and Mrs. Bertha C. Gibbons of Norwalk, Iowa.

She was married Feb. 23, 1882 to Joseph Henry Schaff. Two sons were born to them, Walter Ernest of Dows and Charles Edward of Winterset. Besides the above, she leaves to mourn her death her husband, two grandchildren and a host of friends.

She gave her life to God and served with the Church of Christ. She has born her affliction with christian fortitude and patience and as the end drew near, her faith and fortitude grew stronger.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Thursday morning conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Interment in the Rock City cemetery.
