William Dodson, Ankeny

William Leroy 'B.J.' Dodson Jr., 21, of Ankeny drowned in a rafting accident June 2, 1996 at Badger Creek State Park in Madison County. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, after 9 a.m. at the funeral home with family visitation 6-8 p.m.. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born in Des Moines on Oct. 9, 1974 to William Leroy Sr., and Darla Kay (Moraine) Dodson. He had attended Van Meter and Interstate 35 schools. He was a courier driver at Lanter Courier Services and had lived in the Van Meter area until moving to Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by both grandfathers.

Surviving relatives include his parents of Truro; one brother, Danny Dodson of Truro; one sister, Kari Dodson of Truro; both grandmothers, Joyce Dodson of Van Meter and Martha Moraine of Des Moines; and several aunts and uncles.
