Thomas Morris was born in Pickway county, Ohio, Aug. 9, 1826, and died at his home in Winterset, Ia., Sept. 14, 1909, aged 83 years. When a boy he went to Indiana and in 1848 was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Rutter. To this union eight children were born. He came to Madison county in 1872 where he has made his home ever since. In 1878 his wife passed away. He was married a second time to Mrs. Malinda Craig who survives him. Services were held from the home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Corkey and interment was made in the Hooton cemetery.
