Lula Mae Smith, Truro

Lula Mae Smith, (90), died October 19, 1993 at her daughters home in rural Truro. Services were held October 23, 1993 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County. The Rev. Richard Harbart of Johnston officiated the ceremony.

Mrs. Smith was born June 16, 1903 in Greentop, Mo. to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Jane (McBee) Gregory. She married Charles Emory Smith on Dec. 31, 1923 in Quincy, Ill. She taught school, worked at C.B. & Q. railroad and for 25 years she was a clerk at Kale Grocery in Truro. She was a member of Thursday Girls, Rebekah Lodge 309 and the Christian Church at Greentop, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters; four sisters and six brothers.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Paulina Youmans of Truro; 10 grand children; 15 great-grand children; three great-great-grand children and two son-in-laws, Gene Youmans and Rex Linsley.
