Another of Madison county's old and respected citizens passed away last Friday in the person of Caleb Price, of Lincoln township. Mr. Price was one of our best citizens. He was a man respected and trusted by all who knew him; honorable and upright in all things. He was the kind of a man we do not like to lose, and he is greatly mourned by the community.

Caleb Richard Price was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, March 29th, 1836. In 1862 he married Miss Barbara Ruby and after a three years residence in Indiana, moved to Iowa. To them were born four children, Mrs. Fannie Beerbower, of Minnesota, Clifton R., of Rocky Ford, Colo.; Nannie E. and L. V., of Winterset, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral which occurred Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, Rev. Requa officiating.

Caleb Price was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, March 20, 1836, and died at the home of his son, L. V. Price in Lincoln township, December 20, 1907. Mr. Price had been ailing for several years, nevertheless his death was a surprise to his friends and the public, his fatal sickness being of but a few days' duration.

Caleb Price was a splendid example of a worthy citizen and christian gentleman, quiet and undemonstrative, yet of great energy and forces of character. He was married to Barbara Ruby in 1862, after three years spent in Indiana they moved to Madison County, Iowa. The faithful wife preceded him to the better world a little more than two years ago. One daughter, Ora, died the same year.

The surviving members of the family, L. V. of this county, Clifford and Nannie of Rocky Ford, Colorado and Mrs. Fannie Beerbower of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, were present at the funeral services which were held from the Methodist church Monday, Rev. E. W. ReQua officiating.
