Funeral services for Norma Garrett, 61, were held Mon., May 13, at Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Raines officiating. Mrs. Garrett died May 9 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

A Madison County resident for most of her life, she was born November 11, 1929 in Decatur to William Edward and Hazel Gwendolyne (Sutherland) Butcher. She married Donald Carlton Garrett March 16, 1947 in Hiawatha, Kan. She was a housewife and bakery manager for Super Valu Food Stores.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers. Surviving are her husband; a son, Bill Garrett of Burlington; two daughters, Betty Jo Van Gelder of Oskaloosa and Annette Doolittle of Webster City; two brothers, Donna Pettit of Winterset and Betty Kiddoo of Macksburg; and one grandchild.

Burial was at Moon Cemetery, rural Macksburg.
