HELEN RUTH SCRIVNER

Helen Ruth Scrivner, 92, passed away on March 2, 2005 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. Funeral services were held Monday March 7 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Dr. J. Albert Calaway of Indianola officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Helen was born on October 2, 1912 to Charles Daniel Smith and Rena Aetensly (Logan) Smith in Osceola. She graduated from Corydon High School and was united in marriage to Ivan Edward Scrivner on November 27, 1953 in Hernando, Miss. She had lived in the St. Charles area for the past 55 years. For a short time, she taught country school near Corydon and then worked at Look magazine in Des Moines. She had a custom upholstery business and also made dolls and ceramics. She was a member of the St. Charles parish and had been active in the Church Women's Group and a Ceramic Club.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Ekleberry; three sons, William David Ekleberry, Rex Irvin Ekleberry and Charles Joe Ekleberry and a grandson, Steven Ekleberry.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan Scrivner of St. Charles; son, Don Ekleberry of Truro; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Marjory Smith of Des Moines.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes in Osceola.
