DONALD H. GRAVES Services

Donald H. Graves died Saturday, September 17, 1977, at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, at the age of 71.

Born in Perry on November 13, 1905, to Charles A. and Bertha E. Manatt Graves, Don had lived in Madison county for 31 years. On December 12, 1942, he married June W. White in Chicago.

A member of the American Legion and V.F.W., Graves and his wife operated a ladies dry goods and clothing store here. The firm was founded by the late Chas. A. Graves 75 years ago in Perry. The Winterset store opened in 1934.

Don Graves was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific theater of operations.

Survivors include his wife, son Kirk of Chicago, daughter, Mrs. Paul (Penny) Moehn of Des Moines, four grandchildren, and one stepsister, Dorothy Jenkins of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 19, at Collins Funeral Home. Rev. Peter Pintus of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Des Moines officiated. Burial was made at Winterset Cemetery.
