Services for Clifford H. Smith, 83, Winterset, who died July 14, 1988, at the Care Center North where he resided, were held Monday, July 18, at the Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.
Born at Macksburg on Dec. 25, 1904, he was the son of Henry and Ann Hilberry Smith. He was a retired farmer and also worked as a carpenter and butcher. On Dec. 25, 1926 he was married to Lorna Mae Stone in Winterset.
Mr. Smith spent most of his life in the Macksburg area but had lived in Winterset since 1978.
Survivors include a son, Darwin Smith of Norwalk; a daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Max) Binning of Grand River, Iowa; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother.
