3 October 1990Funeral services were held for Esther Wheeler, 85, at Macksburg Methodist Church on Sat., Sept. 22. Mrs. Wheeler died on September 19 at Madison County Hospital, Winterset.
Born April 23, 1905 in Jasper County, Esther was the daughter of William J. and Marie (DeReus) Honnold. She was married to Lee F. Wheeler Sr. February 19, 1923.
Mrs. Wheeler was a member of Hawthorne Rebecca Lodge of Macksburg, Needle Craft Club, WRC. (Women's Relief Corps) #322 of Macksburg and the Macksburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, an infant son, three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughter, Eva White and husband Lowell of Torrington, Wyo., Freda Rowe and husband Bruce of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son Lee F. Wheeler Jr. and wife Maxine of Lorimor; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, John Honnold of Des Moines; Ivan Honnold of Horse Shoe Bend, Ark., and Willis Honnold of Des Moines. One sister, Natalie Burd of Winterset and a son-in-law, Russell Witt of Lorimor.
Officiating was the Rev. Kathy Raines with burial at Moon Cemetery, Macksburg.
