Marjorie Kay Bishop, 73, a former Winterset resident died Dec. 7, 2004 at the Parson's House in Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10 at the Presbyterian Church in Carson with the Rev. Michael Harvey officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Marjorie Bishop was born Sept. 1, 1931 to Norman Emil and Laura Belle (Travis) Hollen. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1949 and attended Iowa State University in Ames. On Dec. 19, 1950, she married Daniel Earl Streyffeler in Winterset and to this union two children were born. Later, in 1975, she married John E. Bishop. She and John continued to live in Winterset. Marjorie owned and operated a beauty shop for 35 years, retiring in 1996. In 1998, due to her husband's health, she moved to Carson. Her memberships included the Winterset United Methodist Church, Carson Presbyterian Church and Sigma Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, Norman Streffeler; and two brothers, Robert Hollen and William Hollen.
She is survived by one daughter, Lauri Drake of Carson; a twin sister, Margaret Stark of Lawndale, Calif; one stepson, Kevin Bishop of Osceola; and three grandsons, five stepgranddaughters and one great-grandson.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Hertz Funeral Home in Carson.
