20 December 1989Lucy L. Peckham, 90, of Winterset, formerly of Macksburg, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 12, 1989 at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset.
Services were held on Fri., Dec. 15 at the Macksburg United Methodist Church. Rev. Kathy Raines officiated the service and burial was at the Moon Cemetery.
Mrs. Peckham was born December 10, 1899, in Richland township, west of Orient, to John David and Lucinda Frances (Amos) Edwards. She married Lloyd "Bud" Peckham February 17, 1917 in Fontanelle. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1977.
She lived as a child in Richland township and Fontanelle and 14 years in Nevinville before moving to Macksburg in 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church, Wayside Garden Club, Needlecraft Club and a 30 year member of the J.D. Craven WRC in Macksburg. She entered the care center in 1977.
Survivors include three daughters, Adaline (Mrs. Orlo) Wallace of Zion; Mrs. Virginia Kinyon of Lorimor and Mrs. Jean Eivins of Macksburg; a son, John Peckham of Macksburg; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Phoebe Gaidies, two grandsons; five brothers and two sisters.
