Services for Orin Thomas, 94, who died Sept. 17 (1989) at the Bethesda Care Center were held Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Born in Madison County on Feb. 13, 1895, he was the son of Charles and Anna (Addington) Thomas. He was a farmer and a boiler operator for the REA.

On Feb. 16, 1915 he married Mary Adlean Porter in Madison County.

Mr. Thomas was a lifetime resident of Madison and Union Counties and a member of the United Methodist Church in Creston and the Oddfellow and Rebekahs of Creston.

Survivors include a son, Charles, of Des Moines, a sister, Mabel McKee of Winterset; two grandsons, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a grandson, and a brother.
