11 October 1989Services for Lee F. Wheeler Sr., 85, Lorimor, who died Oct 3 (1989) at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Friday, Oct. 6, at the United Methodist Church at Macksburg with the Rev. Kathy Raines officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
Born July 11, 1904, at Lorimor, he was the son of Cyrus and Martha (Mobley) Wheeler. He married Esther Honnold in 1923 at Creston.
A lifetime resident of the Lorimor and Macksburg areas, Mr. Wheeler was a farmer. He was a member of the IOOF and Rebekah lodges and the Black Angus Association. He and his wife were the 1988 Covered Bridge Festival King and Queen.
Survivors include a daughter Eva White and husband Lowell of Torrington, Wyo., a son Lee Jr. and wife Maxine of Lorimor; a daughter, Freda Rowe and husband Bruce of Phoenix, Ariz., 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, four brothers, a son and a daughter.
