GEORGE W. MARXEN

Services for George W. Marxen, 83, Winterset who died July 3 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital were held Friday, July 7 (1989) at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Collins officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Born in Cass County, Iowa, on Feb. 22, 1906, he was the son of William and Pauline (Thomas) Marxen. He was a farmer and had spent his lifetime in Madison County, living most recently at the Bethesda Care Center. In 1968, his health failed and he sold his farm and moved to Winterset.

Survivors include sister, Martha Kirkpatrick of Des Moines and Ella Wilms and Margaret Hulin, both of Atlantic. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and a sister.
