Patricia Ann Francis Ambrose, 47, of rural Lenox died Saturday afternoon, June 3, 1989 of cancer at Charter Hospital in Des Moines.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Richard Kaiser, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Afton will officiate the service with burial in the Moon Cemetery, Macksburg. A family night will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home here.

Mrs. Ambrose was born June 6, 1941 in Orient, to Forest H. "Bud" and Velma H. (Klos) McVay. She had been married to Donald R. Francis and Russell Ambrose and divorced. She was a lifelong resident of the Creston area and worked for MATURA for the past nine years as weatherization evaluator.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Francis of Waterloo; a daughter, Dawn Francis of Afton, a granddaughter; her mother Velma McVay of Lenox; seven brothers, Duane (wife Sharon) of Anahiem, Calif., Calvin (wife Ethel) of Lorimor, John (wife Carolyn) of Cedar Falls, Larry (wife Wanda) of Riverside, Calif., Mike (wife Joan) of Grimes, Daniel of Waterloo and Abraham (wife Barb) McVay of Winterset; four sisters, Helen (Mrs. Kenneth) Finnegan of Phoenix, Ariz., Judi (Mrs. Von) Tull and Beth (Mrs. Larry) Ripperger of Afton and Kathryn (Mrs. Ed) Craig of Casa Grande, Calif. and special friend, Jim Ray, of Creston.

She was preceded in death by two children William and Thelma; her father Forest McVay and a brother, Keith.
