DELL TUCKER Died Sunday

Mrs. Charles E. Tucker, Sr., of Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Sunday, April 12, 1969, at her home here. She was 71 years of age.

Mrs. Tucker was the former Catherine Dell Givan, daughter of Robert and Ada McFarland Givan. She was born near Macksburg on Dec. 18, 1897. She was married to Charles E. Tucker at Postville on Sept. 1, 1921. They were parents of three children, one of whom, a daughter, preceded the mother in death. Her husband died in 1965.

She was a member of the First United Methodist church in Winterset, where she was active in the Women's society for Christian Service. She was also a member of A.V.A.

She leaves two sons, Charles Tucker of Winterset and Arnold Tucker of Middleton, O., six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, a brother, Carl Givan of Macksburg, and four sisters, Mrs. Verda Hannan of Atlantic, Mrs. Ruth Wilson of Salida, Colo., Mrs. Edith Bevington of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Merle Brown of Canada.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First United Methodist church in Winterset conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Everett K. Burham. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Among those who were here from a distance Tuesday, April 15th to attend funeral services for Dell Tucker were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Tucker of Middletown, Ohio, Esther Allen, Mrs. Jean Perkins and Tommy Tucker of Des Moines, Miss Connie Banks of Waukee, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Comp of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hannon of Atlantic, Lulu Nelson, Harvey Handley, Frances Handley and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wearmouth of Lorimor.

Also Ruth Tucker of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wilson of Orient, Mr. and Mrs. George Friday of Toledo, Jim Haun of Ankeny, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Thomas of Greenfield, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Givan of Patterson, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wearmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Max J Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Eivins, Mrs. and Mrs. Carl Haymond, Carl Givan, Lee Kivett and Ann Kivett of Macksburg.
