JAMES J. EAGAN Dies Suddenly

April 13, 1966James J. Eagan, well-known Crawford township farmer for many years, died suddenly Monday morning, April 11, at his farm home north of Patterson. He had gone to the barn to do the milking, but was stricken with a heart attack and was dead when found a little later.
Mr. Eagan was 69 years of age. A son of Lawrence and Mary Sammon Eagan, he was born in Madison County Sept. 9, 1896 and spent his life in this county.
He was married at Peru on June 28, 1925, to Violet Hope, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Erik Cleveland of Alden, Mrs. Robert Egeland of Maxwell, and Mrs. John Lynch of Cumming; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Eagan of West Des Moines and Lawrence Eagan of Murray; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Petersen of St. Paul, Minn., Bessie Eagan of St. Paul, and Mrs. Margaret Stephen of Coalridge, Mont.
Rosary services will be held this Wednesday at 8 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset. Funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Catholic Church of the Assumption at Churchville, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Denis P. Curtin. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Churchville.
