July 19, 2000Ruby King, 84, of Van Meter died of cancer July 17, 2000, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church in northeastern Madison County. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 19) at McLaren's Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Ruby King was born near Cumberland. A homemaker, Ruby was a member of Farm Bureau and the Altar Society at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Francis King.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty King of Van Meter; a son, Vernon King of Altoona; and a grandaughter.
