May 5, 1982Services for Leo F. King, 73, of Booneville will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 1982, at St. Patricks, Irish Settlement of rural Cumming. Mr. King died Monday, May 3, at Mercy Hospital of cancer. Burial will be at St. Patricks Cemetery.
In addition to the funeral mass on Thursday, there will be a rosary recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home.
Born near Booneville, on October 8, 1908, he was the son of Patrick and Mary Lou McNamara King. He was a farmer`and ASCS office manager in Madison county for many years.
Mr. King was an active member of this community, serving on many local organizations and boards, including the Lions Club; past member of the Knights of Columbus; member of the ASC Office Managers Asso.; past member of the Council of Catholic Concern; vice-chairman of Living History Farms Harvest Committee; FHA board member; and member of the Neighborhood Conservation Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a daughter, Betty of Van Meter; a son, Vernon of Altoona; a brother Vincent of West Des Moines; a sister, Marie Conner of West Des Moines; and a sister, Winifred Hoover of Norwalk.
